DSI Dive Control System 2-A
DCS Dive Control System-2A (400-020) is a lightweight, portable control box for use in surface supplied air diving operations. The DCS-2A controls the divers air supply, communications and also monitors the divers depth. It allows two divers clear push-to-talk (two wire) or round robin (four wire) communications.
The air supply can either be from a low pressure compressor or high-pressure cylinders. An adjustable first stage regulator in the DCS-2A reduces the high-pressure air and supplies low pressure through the umbilical to the divers breathing system. High pressure yokes permit U.S. standard scuba cylinders to be used. Low pressure air supply fittings allow for a compressor to be used as the primary air source, when available. A complete pneumo system with dual reading gauges (both US Standard and Metric) is provided for each divers air, as well as a shut-off/bleed system that uses two high-pressure feed lines which allow the changing of used cylinders without interruption of the diving operation. Optional shut off valves allow the isolation of one divers air supply from the other.
The advanced communications system allows for either two-wire (push-to-talk) or four wire (round robin/open circuit) capabilities. It features a rechargeable gel battery for up to 20 hours of continuous operation. Gel batteries do not have a memory, allowing for complete charge after each use. Unlike Nicad batteries, Gel batteries do not have to be run down completely before charging. Boat or car batteries can also be externally connected if desired. Each dive can be tape recorded through a dedicated jack and there is a remote speaker jack. Cross talk capability for diver to diver communications is standard. Communications options include a headset with boom mic as well as a wireless tender remote.
The high impact polyethylene plastic DCS-2A case will not crack or chip. Double wall construction and extra thick corners ensure exceptional strength and a long work life in a lightweight case. An O-ring seal protects hardware from moisture when the case is closed. Latches are all stainless steel for maximum life.
