The BlackBirn 1-D (BB1UV-D) Inspection System
features an articulating-leg electromagnet, a lowered silhouette, and a dual
voltage electrical system. This allows the unit to handle easier for work in
cramped areas and obtain better results over welds and curved surfaces. The
BlackBirn is operable from either American or European electrical
outlets.
Amazing Articuleg™
The Articuleg magnet is versatile, strong, and safe. It is powered by a low
voltage current of only 4-V / DC, which develops a more than adequate magnetic
field for ferrous particle inspection work.
Lowered Silhouette
This creates a more compact inspection tool, easier to probe into tight places,
and faster to set up for work or to take down.
The Brightest Light
It is axiomatic that the “brightest” (in terms of projected ultra
violet light) black light will project further underwater and illuminate the
coated ferroparticles more brightly and clearly. The BlackBirn 1-D is
guaranteed to project from 1250 mw/c² to 2000 mw/c², which is a
special measurement of the UV radiation expressed in microwatts of energy over
a square centimeter of surface 15” from the light.
Dual Current System
The control system will have separate input voltage receptacles for both
110/220-V/AC and 230/240-V/AC power and operates on either 50 or 60 Hz. For
diver protection, an isolating transformer is installed into the power control
as well as a combination GFI / ELCB*.
